Assignment 5-1 Weekly Written Analysis 5

I did my weekly Written Analysis 5 on a new netbook from Samsung. I was checking into buying a new netbook and ran into this one. I think it is a great because it is small, has great battery life, huge amount of memory space, has a wireless card built in, and Bluetooth to take care of any of your pictures. The main thing that I need for when I go places it something small. I have a laptop right know, but it is too big to carry around. This netbook is on 2.9 pounds and the lightest in its class. The netbook has a batter life of 8 hours. My laptop only has about 2 hours on the battery, which the netbook would be a Hugh difference. I am on the internet often when I am away and most of the time I cannot find an outlet to charge my laptop, so being connect up to 8 hours will make a huge difference. The netbook also comes with 160GB hard disk drive which is a lot bigger than my laptop. I have around 80GB on my laptop and spent over 1000$ for it. The price varies depending on what you want for software. The price that I see it start at was 520$ which is a huge difference that I paid on my laptop. So from my opinion I believe this would be the best one from what I have seen.
Then I had to look at the reviews to see what people is comment about. The pros in the reviews were that it was a great size to carry around. The netbook is very small and has a huge amount of memory space. Memory space is very important because of speed and what you want to save. Some people like to save a good amount of pictures, songs, or even stuff on the internet, so space is really important. The reviews showed that some people like the fact that it has a battery life of 8 hours. A lot of different netbooks and laptops do not have a good battery life, so 8 hours is a huge difference. People can stay on the internet a lot longer without having to worry about the battery dying out. The price is around the same for the other netbooks, but it does make a difference on what you are actually getting. I feel from reading all the reviews and looking at the different features of the netbook, I should go with the netbook NC1014GB.

Assignment 4-1 Weekly Written Analysis 4

This week’s analysis I decided to go with the Xbox 360 compared to the Playstation 3. I had an xbox 360 about for about 1year and love the selection. The Xbox 360 has a big selection of games that I can choose from. Also the price was not bad compare to the Playstation 3. The graphs are great and I like the action that most of the games have.
On the website some of the cons about have the Xbox 360 were game selection, price, bigger network, and better controllers. The game selection is huge and it is just getting bigger. Some of the games on the X-box 360 are Timeshift, Rainbow six Vegas, Army of two, Gears of War and that is just a few good ones to me. The system cost is lower than the Playstation 3. It does cost around 50$ a year to play online, but it does have a bigger network and good technical support. You can report different issue if people are bothering you on-line and the technical support has the power to take them off-line. One of the cons is that they do a year fee of 50$ to play online.
The Playstation 3 also has some good features. Some of the good things are that there is no fee to play online. You do get to play Blue-Ray movies which have great quality pictures and graphics. The Playstation 3 has some great games like Killzone 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5. You can get up to 120GB for the hard drive which is a big amount of memory. Some of the cons was that there is not a big selection of games right know. The Playstation 3 system does cost a good amount compared to the X-box.
From the information that I received from other people and myself, I would say the X-box 360 would be the better system to go with. I would rather pay a lower amount for movie. The cost of blue-ray movies is way too expensive for me when I can watch the same movie for a cheaper price. The main reason why I have the X-box 360 is to play games and not movies.

Assignment 3-1 Weekly written Analysis 3

This week I did my Analysis on Fred Claus. I watch the movie this week and I thought it was good. The movie is about Vaughn and his brother Glamatti was going up. Vaughn always tries to be better than his brother, but for some reason Glamatti always won in the end. Later on Vaughn drew away from his family while Glamatti crew closer. Vaughn does go to his brother from time to time when he needs his help. One year he needed help with money. Vaughn started asking for 5000$ to get out of jail and then he ask for additional 50,000$ to buy into a night club. Glamatti said he could do it only if Vaughn comes visit him in the North Pole. Vaughn agrees to visit him and help him out his business. Glamatti comes up with some problems when he is visiting. Vaughn gets blamed for some of the problems occurring in the North Pole. After that Vaughn leaves because he promised only to stay a few days. He received his money and went back to Michigan. Vaughn went to counseling after he goes back. He listen to some other peoples stories about brother situation and on how they handle some of their problems. So Vaughn decided to help his brother by going back to the North Pole and helping him make and deliver all the gifts for Christmas. After that Vaughn saves Christmas and the business itself and everybody is happy again.
I got reviews from Amazon.com website. Some pros to the movie were that Vaughn was funny in the movie. Some people thought it was more entertaining than other Santa Claus movies. It is generally a good story with a fair amount of good laughs along with a good semi-touching story. (White 2007) The family problems and situations that it had in the movie went great.
Some of the cons were that the movie is not like Vaughn’s usually movies like “Wedding Crashes”. Some people said the movie was not entertaining and it was not that funny. Some people expected more out of Vaughn in the movie.

Assignment 2-1 Weekly Written Analysis 2

I am doing my week analysis on War of Warcraft 3 because I do play the game sometimes and I like how the game is set-up. The game feels like an extremely focused version of Star Craft; the nature of the battles is much more tactical, yet the racial variety is kept intact. (Price, T., & Nguyen, T., 2002) It has several different characters that you can choose from Druid, Hunters, Warriors and much more. They have several different weapons that you can buy or pick up by doing missions. I have to do different quest to rank up. One of the quests might be going and kill 4 dragons and bring back their skin for research. For bringing back the skin, the quest giver gives that person experience points and money or an item for doing the quest. The game has several quest that the game last longer than your average game. It is not always about the weapon, there is some times that you can cast spells or use magic to defeat an enemy. Sometimes I go to different dungeons, but I cannot go there alone. There are too many enemies in the dungeon for just my character to defeat, so I have to bring a group in with me that is about 5 total characters. Everybody has to use teamwork to defeat the enemies and decides who gets what. War of Warcraft 3 is a very fun and addictive game to play. The graphs are great and art is unreal. The map is just like another world on the computer. War of Warcraft has several different countries that you can take your character to get different quest or go to different dungeons. The game has mounts for your character after you hit level 30. The mounts help you move faster, 60%, while moving through towns. There are several different mounts that you can pick from like tiger, bears, and wolves. When you get to high levels like around 70, you can get fly mounts that can take you anywhere around the world on the internet. Game Rankings.com gave Warcraft 3 an A on their raking. There were 6 different games that were ranked from C-, being the lowest, to A-, being the highest. (Brown, K., 2003) The game has helped me more with computers; it has helped with downloading new software and find information on the internet. The game is great.

Assignment 2-2

The first picture I chose was the Incredible Hulk. I use to watch the original show when I was growing up. I liked the action and the graphs in the show. The Hulk was a leader that he helps people during his shows he was the main character to get the job done and fights the big bad guys at the end.
What it meant to me: I always show myself as been a leader. I try to help out my friends at work by giving them good advice on paths to take. I train my soldiers by giving them the skills they need to be able to handle any task that might face them. I try to get the knowledge and experience to be on top. I feel that the only way that I can train someone else is by having the knowledge and experience myself.
The second picture that I chose was Halo 2. I played the game for a good two years. I like the different characters that you could pick and also the different selection of weapons. The X-box 360 was a great system that you could play online and also just with other people that had the X-box. I played Halo 2 while I was in Iraq.
What it meant to me: I felt that it was a good thing for me while I was not on a mission in Iraq. It took my mind off of what was going on in Iraq and it brought some fun out of being there. Iraq not a good place to be, but when you’re on the game you just think about the game and try to win, so it keeps our minds off of what is going on and put us in a relax stage which is good once in awhile. Halo 2 does show good team, that you have to stick with your team and help each other out to win.
When I was a kid, my father uses to buy me trucks all the time. I like the size of the trucks and how they were bigger than most of the vehicles on the road. I first started driving trucks when I was in the military and still it today. I have been driving trucks for about 11 years and still like it today.
What it meant to me: I feel that being around trucks as a kid it made it easier to be around them when I got older. I can learn how to drive and maintain different trucks quickly and it seems easier than other task that I had to face so far. I like the space that it has in them and the way they can get around. I feel that I am more relaxed around trucks because of having toys of them and being around them when I got older.

The iPhone 3g is a new cell phone by AT&T. There are some different opinions about the phone compare to price and features. Some of the good things about the iPhone are towards the features, find everything easily, games are great, and cases are great. Some of the bad things about the iPhone are the buttons are too small, price, and no replaceable battery.

The internet is 24-7 and it can go to any site. It can bring up good directs to areas around the world. The sites are seen well that it have a zoom out to make the screen larger. With the iPhone finding everything is easier because everything is on the front screen. It has dates, settings, weather, and much more. What makes it nice that each button is one display for each item. The games are fun and exciting. The games have great graphs and are very interest technology. The cases for the iPhone are not that expensive and it covers the whole phone. Some other cases only cover half the phone which it does not protect the phone that well.
Some of the bad things about the iPhone are the buttons are too small, price, and no replaceable battery. The keyboard button is too small and it is hard sometimes to text messages very fast. The price is expensive towards the phone itself and every month it cost around 100$ depend on service plan. Some other companies did come up with around the same phone, but made it cheaper. The battery life is short when using the phone and internet.
The iPhone overall has a great review. The majority of the people like the phone. It has more positive things than negative. The technology that was used on the iPhone is great and surprising. What is popular culture, and what does it mean to you? Popular culture is the system of attitudes, behavior patterns, beliefs, customs, and tastes that define the people of any society. Popular culture to me is everything we have learn and how it change through the years. Cell phones have been around for years and the technology has been improving greatly. First we started with cell phone that we can just contact each other. Now they have cell phones that can text messages, upload games, Internet, and much much more. Popular culture is the changing of an item for one period to another.Why is an understanding of popular culture relevant to you in a business environment and in your present and future career? I feel that popular culture will help me in my business environment on how management should be set up and also how I should be as a manager. Taylor was a great theorist that I learned about in my last class that he had ideas on breaking down a problem and looking at the problem scientifically. This way you break down the problem and look at it in all areas. I feel that I can look at the past on how the managers use to do things and how them do them know and get different theories to use them in my careers and everyday life. Popular culture can also help me how to train my soldiers better from learning what happen in the past. There is a lot of changes in the military with equipment, uniforms, and patches.What would you consider to be an example of a pop culture artifact? And why would you choose it? I chose the IPHONE 3G because I have one right know and I like what they did with the new technology. I feel that this item is an example of pop culture artifact because of the changes of the cell phone through the years and also how popular this phone is today because it can do so much more than before examples: Internet, texting, maps, and much much more.
